5 Queer Therapists Available Online in Ontario

Finding the right therapist is hard. Finding one who truly understands your life, without you having to educate them, justify yourself, or explain why being queer, gay, or trans has shaped you in the ways it has, is even harder.

At Mantra Psychotherapy, we built our practice specifically to close that gap. We’re a virtual psychotherapy clinic serving clients across Toronto, the GTA, and Ontario, with a team of therapists who specialize in affirming care for queer, gay, trans, and 2SLGBTQIA+ communities. Every member of our team brings clinical training alongside a genuine understanding of the contexts our clients navigate, including minority stress, identity-based trauma, internalized shame, and relationship patterns shaped by a world that wasn’t built for us.

LGBTQ2IA+-affirming therapy isn’t just about a therapist who accepts your identity. It means working with someone who understands how growing up queer or gay in a heteronormative world leaves psychological marks on self-worth, relationships, and on the nervous system. It means not starting from scratch every session. It means your identity is held as context, not footnote.

Meet five 2SLGBTQIA-affirming therapists at Mantra Psychotherapy currently accepting new clients

1. Nick Fink, MA, Registered Psychotherapist | He/him

Nick is the founder and clinical director of Mantra Psychotherapy. As a member of the LGBTQ2IA+ community himself, Nick brings both professional expertise and lived experience to his work, particularly with gay men and members of the broader queer community navigating identity, relationships, and emotional health.

His work centres on helping clients bridge the gap between who they are and how they live, moving from emotional suppression toward genuine understanding and regulation.

Nick's main areas of focus are:

3. Lucia Beram, MA, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) | She/her

Lucia’s path to psychotherapy is unconventional. She holds a background in engineering and has carried something from that world into her clinical practice: a genuine appreciation for understanding how systems work, including the complex ones that shape who we are and how we feel. Before entering private practice, she worked with unhoused individuals, survivors of sexual assault, and members of the LGBTQ2IA+ community, which continues to inform how she shows up for her clients.

Lucia believes clients already hold the capacity for growth; her role is to help uncover the skills and self-awareness that allow them to navigate life with greater ease.

4. Tyler Fleming, Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) | He/him

Tyler practices through a Gestalt lens, a body-centred, present-moment approach that’s a little different from traditional talk therapy. Rather than primarily analysing the past, Tyler pays attention to what’s happening right now: in the body, the emotions, and the space between client and therapist. His presence is calm and grounding, his approach gentle but honest.

Tyler focuses on affirming support for 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, couples, and those exploring non-traditional relationship structures. He is sex-positive, kink-allied, and polyamory-informed.
