David Da Silva
David brings nearly a decade of experience in social work and mental health, supporting diverse individuals through a wide range of life challenges. He is a graduate of McMaster University with a bachelors in Anthropology (specializing in social and cultural anthropology), holds a post graduate certificate in Concurrent Disorders from Mohawk College, and has a Master of Social Work degree from Wilfrid Laurier University. They are trained in a variety of therapeutic modalities including Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness practices, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Positive Psychology.
David takes an eclectic, curious approach and works collaboratively with clients to explore their concerns, meet them wherever they are, and tailor therapy to their needs.
At the core of their practice is a client-centred, anti-oppressive philosophy that is informed by their background in peer support and training in social work and concurrent disorders. David believes in creating a space where all identities are honoured and validated: whether you are navigating anxiety or depression, exploring gender identity or sexual orientation, or managing life transitions and change, David strives to walk alongside you with compassion, respect, and authenticity.
David also believes in the power of joy and humour. While therapy can address deep and serious issues, David often draws on lightness and humanity to support clients with reconnecting with hope, resilience, and the possibility of finding meaning and relief even in difficult times.
If you value a therapist who offers a respectful, empathetic, flexible and non-judgmental space and who understands complexity, embraces diversity, and believes in growth, David would be honoured to support you on your journey.
