Lucia Beram, MA
Hi, I'm Lucia. My path to psychotherapy isn't a conventional one — I started out in engineering before realising that what truly drives me is people, not problems to be solved. That said, I've carried something from that background into my clinical work: a deep appreciation for understanding how things work, including the complex systems that shape who we are and how we feel.
I believe you already have the capacity for growth and change. My role isn't to hand you answers — it's to help you uncover the skills and self-awareness that allow you to understand yourself more deeply and navigate life with greater ease.
Before entering private practice, I worked alongside some of the most resilient communities imaginable — unhoused individuals, survivors of sexual assault, and members of the LGBTQ2IA+ community. Those experiences shaped my commitment to showing up for every client with genuine respect, curiosity, and zero judgment.
Here's what I can help with:
- Anxiety & Depression — Exploring what's underneath and building practical tools for lasting relief
- Trauma — Working at a pace that feels safe, with a focus on understanding and integrating your experiences
- Emotional Regulation — Developing skills to understand, tolerate, and respond to difficult emotions more effectively
- Self-Worth & Identity — Building a clearer, kinder relationship with yourself
- Relationships & Communication — Understanding the patterns that shape how you connect with others
- Daily Functioning — Addressing the ways mental health shows up in your everyday life and routines
I take a biopsychosocial approach — meaning I look at the full picture of who you are, including the biological, psychological, and social factors that shape your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. I also place a lot of value on psychoeducation, because understanding why you feel or react the way you do can be one of the most empowering parts of the therapeutic process.
I'm currently accepting new clients for virtual therapy across Ontario. If you're looking for a thoughtful, collaborative space where you feel genuinely understood, I'd love to connect — free consultations are always available.
