A Little About Me

Nic is a Registered Social Worker and therapist. They are driven by the desire to be in service to those who are seeking to develop a greater literacy and intimacy of themselves and their inner world. They have worked for over eight years in the community sector working with 2SLGBTQIA+ folks, specifically with refugees, immigrants and folks who live with HIV. They specialize in issues that revolve around compulsive behaviours, substance use and misuse, grief, relationship issues, and anxiety. They are particularly interested in the application of therapeutic modalities through the lens of radical allowance, care and persistent generosity.

My Approach

My work begins with the simple assumption that you and your world— your thoughts, habits, behaviours, emotions, desires, sensations and reactions—make complete sense. When we take into consideration the bigger picture of who you are, what you have experienced and how you have metabolized that experience, we begin to understand ourselves in a new and profound way. I believe that our bodies store information, memories and stories that can guide us in understanding why we are the way we are, even though it may not be completely clear to us at this specific moment. Through non-judgmental curiosity and gentleness, we can invite the body to tell us what it knows in order to give us more information about ourselves and whatever spiral, struggle or stuckness we are experiencing.

All experiences are welcome. I have been lucky enough to develop a specific focus for people who are or have experienced trauma, grief, substance use and misuse, relationship issues, eating disorders, compulsive behaviours, questions of identity, anxiety, intrusive thoughts, chronic stress and depression.

As a queer and trans person, I have a lot of experience working with other queer and trans people. I welcome all people, whether or not they currently identify under the 2SLGBTQIA+ banner, and those who have lived or are currently living experiences of immigration, attachment disorders, depression, disability, poverty, neurodivergence, non-monogamy and/or polyamory.
